Dan and Peggy Waggener marked 50 years as owners of Columbia Tire & Recap, 410 Campbellsville Street, in Columbia, Kentucky today, Friday, November 28, 2008..

Mr. Waggener says that, as far as he can tell, it's a record. Columbia Tire & Recap is the oldest private business, under the same ownership, in same location, in Adair County.

DAN and PEGGY WAGGENER marked 50 years in business at Columbia Tire & Recap at410 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, today, Friday, November 28, 2008. The business was started on the Friday after Thanksgiving in 1958. It's a record, Mr. Waggener believes. "To my knowledge," he said, "we're the oldest privately owned business under the sameownership, at the same location, in Adair County."

Adam Bennett graduates as policeman; now BG officer

Force is considered one of Kentucky's five best, Mayor Walker says

Adam Bennett of Columbia, KY, has been hired by the elite Bowling Green, KY, Police Department.

Adam went to the Department of Criminal Justice school in Richmond, KY and completed the 18 week course. He graduated November 21, 2008. In attendance that day were his parents, Tim and Rhonda Bradshaw of Columbia, KY.

Officer Bennett was sworn in as a Bowling Green policeman five days later, on November 26, 2008 by Mayor Elaine Walker. His parents were at the swearing in ceremony, and Officer Bennett's mother, Rhonda Bradshaw, pinned on his badge.

Welcome! Wesley Curtis Sneed

Jon Sneed and Ladonna Parker are proud to announce the birth of their son, Wesley Curtis Sneed.

He was born November 19, 2008, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Wesley weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and was 19 inches long.

Maternal grandparent is Twanina Keen of Scottsville Ky and his paternal grandparents are Gary and Mildred Sneed of Columbia.

Driver loses control of pickup, hits house

An injury pickup truck/house crash occurred at 5:54amET, Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2008, on Bradfordsville Hwy, one mile south of Lebanon, KY.

Richard Sullivan, 23, Lebanon, KY, lost control of his 2005 GMC pickup, ran off the roadway, and struck a house.
