Crash on Louie B. Nunn Parkway takes two lives

POLICE REPORTS

Accident takes life of Berea driver, passenger from Russellville

A one vehicle crash on the Louie B. Nunn took the lives of two occupants this afternoon, at 2:10pmCT, Saturday, July 19, 2008.

The crash occurred two miles east of Russell Springs. Kayleigh Horn, 18, Berea, was traveling westbound in a 1989 Nissan, when she dropped off the shoulder of the roadway, overcorrected, and crossed both westbound lanes, then overturned.

Letter: Adair Countians 80 - and more - doing great!

To ColumbiaMagazine.com< Thanks for posting the birthday wish to wonderful Aunt Nellie Garrett. This wish will just make her birthday. She will be 90! Still in good health and driving. She and my Mom, who is 86, get out every Friday to the beauty shop and lunch. I tease them and tell them its the girls' day out. They also have an older sister, Aunt Bea. She is 94 and does real well. too.

Thanks again for doing this. I love Columbiamagazine.com.

I moved from the area 20 years ago. I moved to Northern Virginia where there is no smoking in restaurants. My family and I love to come back to Kentucky a couple of times a year to visit.

GRL visitors to watch out for Old Fogies ship

It will be the shiniest vessel on the lake. It will be loaded with merrymakers

I felt it only fair to warn you and the good citizens of Adair and surrounding counties that the "Right Honorable Old Fogies Floating, Drinking and Debating Society" will be on Green River Lake tomorrow, Sunday, July 20, 2008.

The "Fogies" will be under power this time on Her Majesty's having just won "Queen of the Kitchen" at the Adair County Fair I can claim that now flagship the "Ustabehis".Wayne Armitage has been cleaning and polishing the boat all week so watch for us on the shiniest vessel on the lake.

Swimming, tubing and general merry making are on the agenda so consider yourself warned.

CU offers 27-hour online certificate in Christian Ministry

Program designed to make it easier for church leaders to obtain training while continuing their ministry and careers, without resorting to costly commutes to classes

Campbellsville University is offering an online 27-hour program for a Certificate in Christian Ministry beginning with the fall 2008 semester, Dr. Michael V. Carter, President of Campbellsville University has announced.

"We are very pleased to be offering the Certificate in Christian Ministry as an online option," Dr. Carter said. "This illustrates Campbellsville University's commitment to serving the needs of pastors and church leaders in Kentucky and beyond with an additional option to secure good theological training while continuing their ministry and careers.

ACHS FFA students visit DC, Congressman Hal Rogers

WASHINGTON, DC: A group Adair County FFA students visited Washington, DC in early July. Along the way, they visited the office of Fifth District Congressman Hal Rogers at the Rayburn Office Building.

Adair County High School FFA students on the trip are: Jacey Cary, Tamara Corbin Tiffany Grant, Meranda Quinn, Colby Robertson, and Katie Royse.

Congressman Rogers said they are working hard on getting approval of Alaskan oil well drilling in an effort produce more domestic oil. He said Nancy Pelosi form California is trying to block the effort. The students are going through a week of leadership training here in Washington.

The group will be back in Adair County on Sunday, July 20, 2008.

Planning and prayer preparation began months ago when many prayer warriors of Adair County came together to seek the Lord about breaking spiritual strongholds in our area.
