Early AM fire heavily damages home on Music Lane By Donald Hare, Public Affairs Officer, ACVFD Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story The Adair County Volunteer Fire Deptartment responded to a residential mobile home fire at 3:33amCT on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the home of Susan Nokes at 150 Music Lane in Columbia, KY.The fire originated in the bedroom which had severe damage, as did to the the living room area of the home. Repairs made to scenic Old Clearsprings Road By Ed Waggener Old Clearsprings Road creek crossings were repaired this past week by the Adair County Road Department this week, making travel across the scenic connector lane much easier and safer. Washouts from the February 6, 2008 floods had made travel difficult across the road until now. Two of the three drybridges on the short road were repoured this week under the supervision of the ACRD's Gary Samuell and Terry Williams, who completed the work with the help of four Adair County Regional Jail inmate workers.
