KY 210 Double-fatality crash scene, one day after

2008-04-17 - KY 210, 7 miles NW of Campbellsville, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
TAYLOR COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFF LAWRENCE WALSH holds some of the debris from the 1998 Isuzu truck which impacted the severity of the crash by its weight, and made clean up of the debris field so hard following the crash yesterday afternoon that took the life of Timothy Alley, 41, Columbia, KY, and Eddie Propes, 54, Yosemite, KY. Officer Walsh said he had seen over 100 fatality accidents in his career with the Lexington Police and with the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, "This was the worst I've ever seen," he said. A tire mark curve in the middle of the road, almost directly across from the point of Officer Walsh's knuckle shows the point of impact and indicates the path of the Isuzu truck, laden with construction supplies and equipment, took. Officers are theorizing that the driver may have dozed off. The heavy load in the box truck added to the force of the impact, Officer Walsh said. Traffic was detoured through Wayne Road, left of the sheriff's prowler in the photo, from mid afternoon until about 9:30pmET last evening. In the distance can on the left, the large building is a trip marker to frequent travelers on 210, Patricia's hair style studio. This photo was taken almost 22 hours after the crash, at around 1:30pmCT/2:30ET.
