LWC (Men) Basketball season ends for LWC men, 76-69

Raiders drop MSC conference tournament opener to Pikeville College

PIKEVILLE, KY: The Lindsey Wilson College mens basketball teams season ended today with a 76-69 loss to Pikeville (KY) College in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.

The Blue Raiders finish the season 16-15.

PIKEVILLE, KY. The Mid-South Conference handed out its annual awards tonight at the mens and womens basketball banquet and cheerleading competition at Pikeville (KY) College.

Fifteen Lindsey Wilson College student-athletes and one coach received conference honors. The Blue Raider womens basketball team was also recognized for their share of the MSC regular season title.

Road conditions: KSP says travel only if absolutely necessary

Snow is still coming down. Though ground cover is the prettiest and deepest it's been this winter, driving is treacherous. Only ight traffic is heard in Columbia this morning

Mark Coker, dispatcher at Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, said this morning Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 6:00amCT, that road crews are out today trying to clear snow covered roads, but they are not making much headway.

"With the wind blowing new snow on the roadways, and the temperature at 23 degrees, the salt is not able to do it's job the way it should," Dispatcher Coker said..

Ice on KY 61 bridge contributes to injury crash

POLICE REPORTS

An icy KY 61 roadway contributed to a crash at 10:02pmCT, last night, Friday, March 7, 2008. which resulted in injuries to the driver and two passengers.

The accident occured 11 miles south of Columbia, KY, between Breeding and Sparksville, KY.

    Campbellsville Universitys Department of Theater will present The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 6,7, and 8, 2008 7:00pmET/6:00pmCT and Sunday, March 9, 2008, at 2:00pmCT in the University Theater. The Taming of the Shrew is a story of secret identities, sarcasm and romance, said Garrett. The play is educational and entertaining. Tickets are $5 for general admissions with group rates available. Supper is $5.00 for all you can eat, chili/soup, crackers/cornbread, cheese, dessert and drink.
