Reade Heskamp sends memories of Coburg, Adair County, KY

Hi . . .

I was born in the same bedroom as my grandfather and my father, in Coburg.

My father was a teacher in Lakewood, Ohio, and we would return to Coburg at holidays and for the summer during the Depression.

My memories of Adair County have always been a significant part of life . . . going to the Stockyard sales, wandering about the Sandusky Mill, a cherry Coke at the drugstore on the Square (can't remember the name}, a haircut on the same Square where I got my first "shave on the back of the neck, and occasionally coming to town and greeting Henry Morgan on the inbound Greyhound run from Louisville. . . roller skating on the portable rink at the fairgrounds, watching the horse shows at the summer Fair, seeing how fast my car of the moment would go on Route 80 east . . . and just enjoying the rural life.

Thought I would just tonight say, "Thanks."

s/Reade Heskamp
