Michael Potter, Jason Harmon say tree limb fuzz is lichen Two more have weighed in what the tree limb fuzz down near Cloyd's Landing in Cumberland County is. They both agree that it is a lichen, in the plant family Usnea. Jason Harmon suggests "Usnea australis," and the lichen does look like the photos in Wikopedia for that plant. Michael Potter magnified a section of the photo 10 times, and concluded it is definitely a lichen. He thinks it is fishbone beard lichen or close kin. Mr. Potter says that Usnea is common throughout the world. Adair Board of Education Nov. 16 meeting report Board approves contract for completion of athletic building. Gets great audit report. Meets oversight committee. Approves sale of five surplus school buses. Recognized by Adair Teachers Association. By Ed Waggener There was good news for the supporters of Adair County football at the November meeting of the Adair County School Board, as the board voted unanimously to accept a bid by DCD Construction for completion of the athletic building. The board was told by DCD representatives that work could start within a week.
