FEEDBACK: Memories of remarkable man; nearby melon patch Unwritten laws would have let watermelon owner shoot most Knifley teenagers, back then, Richard Hovious says Ed: Blind Man's Store brought back a lot of memories! He usually sat on a cut in half barrel or an old rocker near the window on the right. In the early forties we were all fascinated by how fast he could make change. However, I'm afraid the number one attraction in the area was a large, VERY productive watermelon patch owned by a relative of his, Banty Eastrige. Considering unwritten laws around the area then Banty could probably gotten away with shooting most kids my age from around Knifley then. -RICHARD HOVIOUS 2006-11-06 05:15:38 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback

LETTER: digital photography's great On 11/5/06 Terrific photo of the band on their return! Aren't digital cameras great? George Kolbenschlag Yes they are! Both of us can appreciate them even more remembering days of waiting for the film to be developed, then for the prints to come up and dry. It's a fun time to be alive and learning about new technology!
