Pizza, pajamas and pumpkins enjoyed at CWC

On Thursday, October 26th at 5:30, the first grade students at Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School were invited to bring their families to a special activity sponsored by Title I, Family Resource Center and Camp Casey.

Columbian Cleo Spoon needs local help for liver transplant

If sufficient funds aren't provable when his turn for transplant comes, he'll go to the bottom of the list, Billy Joe Fudge, a cousin, writes. Link to story, photos, ways to participate in fund, follows.

An Adair County couple from the Russell Heights area of Columbia, Cleo and Yvonne Stotts Spoon, need help.

Cleo Spoon has a severe case of cirrhosis and is now in dire need of a liver transplant. Yvonne is suffering with lupus.

Letter: High praise for ACPL Genealogy room

"Adair County is a beautiful place and I don't yet know why my ancestors, John Nail and Sarah Gibson, moved to Indiana in the 1850's."
Many thanks to the very knowledgable librarians at Adair County Library who helped me successfully research the Nell/Nail family history in their Genealogy room.

PALACES FOR TRANSPORTATION, PALACES OF MEMORY

I grew up with a fascination for trains. Grandfather, my father's dad, worked most of his life for the Louisville & Nashville (L&N) Railroad. My father had worked for L&N before he went to General Electric, where he stayed until retirement. One of the first magazines I remember reading was the L&N publication that came regularly in the mail and was filled with pictures of trains, old and new, as well as reminiscences and vignettes of railroad history.

(WWJDrive) educational campaign and a key organizer and spokesperson for the Evangelical Climate Initiative, will speak at Campbellsville University Thursday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. in the Little Auditorium of the Student Union Building.

LWC Mens Basketball closes strong to beat Covenant 70-63

Raiders win 5th straight season opener in a row.
Team plays University of Kentucky in Lexington, Thursday

COLUMBIA, KY -- The Lindsey Wilson College mens basketball team erased an 11-point second half deficit to beat visiting Covenant (GA) College 70-63 on Saturday night at Biggers Sports Center.

Lindsey Wilson, who trailed 52-41 with 12:31 left in the game, used runs of five, eight and seven points to in the final 12 minutes to win its five straight season-opener.
