Gov. Fletcher sends funds to make Ray Williams RD safer Money will allow county to make curve revisions, improve safety on Ray Williams Hill. Work may begin as early as next week. Road may be closed, but media will be notified ahead to make public service announcements Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet are taking action to make an emergency upgrade to Ray Williams Road (CR 1040) in District 6 of Adair County, the District Highway office in Somerset announced today. Funds totaling $16,200 have been authorized and will be issued directly to Adair County. Lisa Lee, a spokesperson for the Judge Jerry Vaughan's office, said Friday, October 27, 2006, that work might begin as early as next week. Knifley man airlifted to UL after collision Adair Sheriff's Office, EMS, and KAVFD respond The Adair County Sheriff's Department investigated a two-vehicle collision 14 miles north of Columbia on KY 76 near Knifley, KY, which resulted in injuries to two drivers, one of whom was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital.
