Lauren Goodin is Individual Medalist Winner in ACHS golf

ACHS Girls' Golf Coach

The Heartland Conference Golf Tournament was rained out at Lincoln Homestead onMonday September 11th and rescheduled at Green County Country Club on Wednesday September 13th.

Lauren Goodin (Adair Co.) shot a 39 and was the Individual Medalist and Winnerof the Heartland Tournament.

ACHS Marching Band Grand Champs at Bryan Station



2006-09-17 - Brian Station High School - Photo former band member and band booster Doyle Lloyd.
MEMBERS OF THE ACHS MARCHING BAND and GUARD celebrated the moment as they took another Grand Championship award in class AAA this weekend at Bryan Station. After winning the Nationals last year, this is a great way to begin the new season, winning both of their first two contests. Remembering Aunt Ida Turner Gassaway

Its always so nice to stumble across a bit of forgotten news about an ancestor who is no longer with us. So when I discovered an old clipping of GREETINGS by Alan M Trout I was pleasantly surprised to find the name of my mothers sister, Mrs. Ida Gassaway, included in his column.

From the gist of this article, dated August 16, 1955, it seems the columnist had a question going among correspondents at the time about the size attained by paw paw trees and whether or not the taste of their fruit was desirable to the human palate.

BEING FIRST, AT LEAST FOR AWHILE

All of the synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, contain Jesus teaching that the human view of rank and status is seldom the divine outlook. According to Matthew 19:30, many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. (NIV) The context in Matthew 19 is the story of the rich young ruler who went away in sadness after Jesus had asked the young man to leave behind his wealth and follow as a disciple. Jesus subsequent teachings in that chapter about status and possessions end with verse 30. In Matthew 20 the parable of the workers in the vineyard concludes with verse 16: So the last will be first, and the first will be last."
