Courthouse clock among wishes for restoration

2023-08-15 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
As work progresses on Adair County's historic Courthouse we often hear hopes that the clock will once again be made to work. For years now, since Carl Hutchison's day when he could climb up the inside and keep it going, the clock has only been right twice a day on each of the four sides. Many in and outside of the Adair Heritage Association have studied and tried to recruit clock masters with no luck so far. The last word is that there are parts in the clock that have to be rebuilt. Who will be the next master craftsman or woman to step up? For ideas and suggestions, please click 'comment' below and share your thoughts.
