Travel: Delicate Arch 2022-11-15 - Arches National Park, Utah - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking. Robert writes, "Delicate Arch, possibly one of the most famous Arches in the World. Utah has it for its logo on their license plate. It was included in our pre-planning to visit this Arch. One small problem...it's a 3 mile round trip from the parking lot with an elevation gain of nearly 500 feet. Determination was in the drivers seat that day and we did it! To add to the excitement, the parking lot fills up rather quickly in the morning, so it was a priority to get their as early as we could to get a spot. It is a popular Arch for sunrise and sunset photography. It's a wonderful hike if you're physically able to do it. It's almost always crowded, and unseen in the photo a line forms to the left to get their picture taken standing under the Arch. The 'bowl' to the right is very steep and deep, and would certainly be unforgiving if you slide into it. Behind me is a ledge, 3-4 feet high, hundred feet long, I'm guessing, about half of the visitors are too scared to venture beyond it.
