Artist David Goguen and Jackie Montgomery at LWC Gallery

2019-09-03 - Slider Hall, Lindsey Wilson College - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
David Goguen, LWC Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for Journalism and for Media Studies, left, is pictured with Jacquelyn Montgomery, Assistant V.P. for New Program Integration, as they pause beside his painting titled 'Women Playing a Harp' at the exhibit of local artists works in the Lucretia C. Begley Gallery at Lindsey Wilson College. His artist statement reads, "...both paintings are a part of my 'Ghosts of Dementia' series that depict memories either emerging or receding. Abstract and figurative visual language are used together in an attempt to occupy that space where either the emergence or regression of a memory is possible, thus leaving the viewer within the same state of uncertainty, confusion, and fear that a person who suffers from dementia or Alzheimer's disease may feel." The exhibit is free and open to the public now through September 20, 2019. A reception will be held at 6pmCT Thursday, September 19, 2019.
