Dan Thies, Red Cross Home Fire Campaign Volunteer, installs the free smoke alarm with a ten-year battery. While he did that, his wife Gracie went over the information needed to escape from a burning building. There are only two minutes to get out from anywhere in the house - two minutes! She says to get out first, then call 911. To sign up with the American Red Cross for free alarms and installation at no cost, call 859-951-7814. You will be contacted to set up an appointment for installation by a local Red Cross volunteer. Is this for real? Yes.
