Bert Stanford Rosenbaum, Fairplay, KY

2018-11-12 - West Point, NY - Photo by Dave Rosenbaum.
Dave writes, J"A photograph taken from the 1940 West Point Class Annual. My Uncle Bert graduated from West Point in 1940 and served as a bomber pilot in the South Pacific during WW II. He never forgot his roots at Fairplay."

The text reads: "Bert Stanford Rosenbaum, Fairplay, KY. Rosy spent one day in a rock quarry back in Kentucky, and decided he would rather be a cadet. He came to West Point with two assets; a cast-iron body from a rough mold and a wealth of colorful stories. The academic course was the rope he had to climb, and he manhandled it every inch of the way. He specked it if he didn't understand it; so he specked it all. Rosy is rare as in steak or in Ben Jonson."
