City Council okays compensating tax rate, sidewalk work

All six Columbia City Council Members listened as City Attorney Dustin Warren read Ordinance 220.174 in a special called meeting Wednesday, September 12, 2018 to set the tax rate for the year. The motion to choose the recommended compensating tax rate, was approved on a motion by Dr. Ronald Rogers and a second by Pamela Hoots with a unanimous voice vote. The Council also approved sidewalk improvements to begin on Greensburg Street after having selected the bid from Mike Mitchum of Mid State Ready Mix on a motion by Dr. Rogers with a second by Linda Waggener and a unanimous voice vote.
