Changing topography of Green River Commerce Park

2018-07-27 - Development Drive, looking west, Green River Commerce Park, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, Columbia, KY.

Site preparation at Green River Industrial Park has been moving steadily ahead. The entrance from Campbellsville Road, has been leveled to as prairie-land-flat as Greg Greer's Greer Brothers Construction of Knifley, KY moved a pretty good chunk of Adair County from the right side of the road to the left. Now that the month long project is mostly done, ATS Mobility/Wilkerson Transport plans to build another manufacturing facility, which may see the companies' employment increasing to 50 people. Right now, employment is maintained in the 41-45 range. ATS Mobility converts Toyotas, Fords, Ram/Dodge/Chrysler vehicles for assisted transportation for patients needing wheelchair lifts. The company recently purchased additional acreage in the park. The biggest challenge now, owner Rob Wilkerson says, is finding enough workers to fill openings. - EW
