1928 - Dillon Drug Co. had 2 year stint as downtown drug store



2018-07-08 - The Dillon Drug Co. (location now 204 Public Square, Columbia, KY) - Photo from the collection of JIM.
The Dillon Drug Co., advertised in the accompanying image from the July 23, 1923 paper, had succeeded the young firm of Russell & Taylor (Dr. C.M. Russell & Herb Taylor) not quite a year earlier. Mr. G.W. Dillon, the owner, was a registered pharmacist, as was his son, Mr. Rich Dillon. - Jim (Note: - Interest in the 200 Quadrant, the Southwest Corner of Downtown Columbia, has been the focus of interest with the Grand Re-Opening of Nanwood Market next door to this building. Mr. Rich Dillon's wife, Bertha Dillon played a large role in the early days of Reed Bros. Insurance company, which occupied upstairs offices in the block for many decades in the 20th Century).
