Kids Bucks meant to improve health of Adair youth

Darrell Burnell and Donna Jones, co-directors of the Farmers Market on the Square, FM2, in Columbia are the proud recipients of a $1,050 grant for Kids Buck Vouchers. The goal of this grant is to reduce the prevalence of chronic disease in Adair County by encouraging children and youth to increase fresh produce in their diets. Adair County WATCH Coalition and Lake Cumberland District Health Department secured the "mini" grant through Appalachian Diabetes Control and Translation Project (ADCTP). The grant also provides funds for educational materials for children which the Market will be distributing. Lake Cumberland District Health Department and Farmers Market on the Square are delighted to collaborate to improve the health of youth in Adair County.
