Neighbors are tired of picking up overflow trash 2018-06-17 - S Reed Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. This is not a photo we like to post on ColumbiaMagazine.com. But misuse of this trash bin, most often, it would seem, from non-residents who use it because mandatory trash pick-up is not mandatory outside Columbia. Litter seen on the pavement tends to be blown north, toward office buildings, the municipal parking lot, down E Fortune Street, and, in many cases, all the way to Jamestown. Many believe that Adair Fiscal Court could remedy 80% of the problem by requiring all residences of the county to have a garbage service, as is done in many other counties, and as has been the rule in the City of Columbia for many years. - EW Permalink | Comments?
