Adair County Fireman preparing for Red Letter Day

2018-06-03 - Columbia/Adair County Fire Department, 200 Merchant Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Before 8amCT, this morning, Sunday, June 3, 2018, County Fire Chief Billy Flatt, Billy Hadley, and right, 2018 Adair County Crusade for Children Coordinator Charlie Crawhorn, were prepared for a final push, a bonus day - to swell the totals of an already spectacular fundraising year for the Crusade. Firefighters are at posts at the fire department and at the four entrances to the Public Square this morning, from 8am-10amCT, before leaving in private vehicles for the first turn-in at WHAS in Louisville in at least 17 years! There may be more than one superlative to report in live time expected to be between 12pmNoon&1pmCT on WHAS TV 11. A reminder: Every dollar given in Adair County returns to Adair County in the form of a WHAS grant. The totals to be reported will be county wide, and will include The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department, Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department, and Knifley AVFD totals. Details will be available on ColumbiaMagazine.com and other local media in the next 24 hours. At this posting, there's still time to take that last minute check to the firemen. - EW
