Fossil inherited from Mom's gardening days

2018-04-30 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.
There was excitement over the little brown fossil rock among the creek gravel from an Inroad walk last week, and it reminded me of this one inherited from Mom, from her days of flower gardening. She loved blossoms of every kind and color and she collected rocks with character to place among her flowers, like this much larger one which shows a rich history. I wish I could say which of her worlds this fossil came from, but she brought it among her possessions when she came to live here and forgot to tell me where it was discovered. I'm sure it's a Kentucky fossil, just not sure the specific spot. - LW
