Jalen Coats leads CU men in 75-66 1st Round victory

Campbellsville mens basketball held No. 6 Columbia in check to win 75-66 in NAIA Opening Round of the NAIA Men's Basketball Div 1 Tournament. Above Jalen Coates led Campbellsville with 15 points – 10 of those in the second half – to push CU into the Round of 16 vs. Montana Western on Friday evening. The Tigers held the second-best 3-point shooting team in the country to hitting 29 percent overall and kept the American Midwest Player of the Year, Jackson Dubinski, in check with three points enroute to a 75-66 win in the opening round of the NAIA Championship over No. 6 Columbia College. The Tigers will now play Montana Western on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 4pmCT/5pmET in the Round of 16, at Municipal Auditorium, 301 W 13th, Kansas City, MO. - Jordan Alves, Sports Information Director
