The World of Cats: China on the roof

A noble neighborhood cat which my late mother-in-law loved, gave sanctuary at our house, and named when it visited, "China," still comes to dinner stays a while, and establishes its reign so very dramatically. China's throne on Saturday, June 24, 2017, when we arrived home was the peak of the carport roof. Sending a message. Maybe it wasn't "I'm China. I rule," as cats are wont to do. Maybe it was this message we understood: "Remember The Lady who loved us with hospitality and food and extraordinary kindness." We wanted to talk to China, but, as most humans do, we never learned the language until after it was too late. By the way, "China" is a welcome visitor today, not only for what he meant to Geniece Marcum, but because of his magnificent beauty. We wonder what the cat's real name is, at his "real" home. - EW
