Foggy morning on 'Sulphuric' Creek from Ridgeview Farms

2017-06-03 - Ridgeview Farms, Putman County, Adair County, KY - Photo by Tim Baker.
Adair County Dairy Farmer Tim Baker captured a Golden Hour photography moment with the sun spotlighting, for mere minutes, cattle in the 'Sulphuric' Creek bottom land Ridgeview farms' pasture while the rising fog obscures the more distant hilltops. For those unfamiliar with this stunningly beautiful gentle grandeur territory of Adair County, it's closest communities are Christine, Ella, Millerfield, and McGaha (communities in Putman County are alphabetical). For those new to the area, Putman County is Adair County's fabled county-within-a county, whose borders are just a bit indefinite. But the late Adair County PVA, Dr. Billy Neat - maybe the world's first varmintologist - when asked how one would know they were in Putman, would reply, "Why there's no way to miss it! The land just Greens Out. It is beautiful beyond imagination." In this rainy season, his words fit to a T. The land is recommended for a staycation today - or soon, a know-your-county better day trip, to include, if you fancy leads, sojourns into the neighboring other Tri-County - Casey-Adair-Russell - area. One wonders, if CAR had been one big county, whether McGaha or Millerfield in Adair County, Dunnville hands-down in Casey, or Webb's Crossroad in Russell County, would have been the county-seat. Happy touring today. Thanks for this Fri 02 Jun 2017 capture to Tim Baker. - EW
