Taylor County teachers honored at CU for Excellence in Teaching

Taylor County School awards went to Tonya Rogers, Taylor County Intermediate School; Kendra Blair, Taylor County Middle School; and Stephen Bishop, Taylor County High School. Rogers teaches fourth grade reading at Taylor County Intermediate School, where she has taught since 2007. She graduated in 1994 from Taylor County High School. In 1998, she obtained her BA in K-5 education from Eastern Kentucky University. In 2015, Rogers received a MA from Campbellsville University. She is attending Eastern Kentucky University pursuing a Rank 1. She is married to Dr. Thomas Rogers and has two children, Elizabeth and Eric. Blair has been teaching eighth grade Math at Taylor County Middle School since 2014. She graduated from Caverna High School in 2000 and attended Western Kentucky University, where she obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 2004 and 2011, respectively. She is married to Timothy Blair and has one child, Kennedy Blair. Bishop teaches band at Taylor County High School where he has been working since 2004. Bishop graduated from Green County High School in 2000 and attended Campbellsville University where he obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 2004 and 2010, respectively. His parents are Paula Bishop and Charles Bishop, both of Greensburg, Ky. He is married to Christina Bishop and they have three children, Madison, Logan and Noah.
