Ten Years ago, Ann Melton took the oath of office as the first woman to hold the office of Adair County Judge in the history of the county. Former Mayor Pat Bell had just won his first full term as an elected City of Columbia Mayor, after being named to the post by the City Council after then - (and now) Mayor Curtis Hardwick had resigned to take a high post in the administration of Gov.
