Remember this? you may be out of warranty: Ben Franklin opening 1961

2016-12-14 - 300 Quadrant, Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo from the collection of Mike Watson, Adair County historian.
Mike Watson sent this Keepsake Ad clipping from the Adair County News of a bit over 55 years ago. The Ben Franklin store was advertising its Thursday, September 21, 1961, Grand Opening. The business was owned by the Milhar Corp - anyone remember why that name? - and was a must-visit-after-school destination for thousands of school kids in it's long reign, before the advent of the first Columbia Walmart, as one of Columbia's most popular ever venues. Comments, additional information welcome. - EW
