Well worn Bible headed to Washington

2016-11-12 - Tompkinsville, KY - Photo by James Comer, shared by Tiffany Kessler.
"The very last thing I packed before I fly out to DC today was my Mom's Bible to be used for my swearing-in. It was given to her by her pastor at the time, Bro. Stanley Craig at First Baptist Church in Tompkinsville in 1972, right before I was born. Mom carried it with her to every service, revival, and Sunday School class that I can remember. I just opened it up and found a note that she had written that said: "To whom much is given much is required." I had to Google that to find that it is from Luke 12:48. That is a pretty powerful message for me to remember as I take office in Congress on Monday." -- James Comer as he prepares to take his new job as Kentucky's new 1st District Congressman.
