Edmonton, KY, Artist Steve Scherer at the torch, creates a horse in blue glass. On Saturday, November 5, 2016, he will demonstrate his unique glass ornaments from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30pmCT/3:30pmET. at the Kentucky Artisan Center, 200 Artisan Way, Berea. Using an oxygen-gas torch and his own hand-colored borosilicate glass, Scherer creates Christmas ornaments by encasing his handmade animals and birds with clear glass. A sphere is blown from a piece of glass tubing and the finished glass animal is inserted and attached. The opening is then gathered together and sealed with a loop for hanging. Gwen Heffner
