Ella Lee Oliver Wilson reads poem at MCHS Class of 66 Reunion

2016-10-23 - Leftwich Hall in Bowling Park, 1608 West Stockton Street, Edmonton, KY. - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com (c).
Betraying the huge jump she had on the rest of the MCHS Class of 1966, having been launched into the world of Academia at the Keltnertown School, Ella Lee Oliver Wilson enthralled fellow high school class members with a Class Reunion poem. Mrs. Wilson, the wife of class member Forrest Wilson, is the mother of Metcalfe County Judge Greg Wilson. She's also one of Metcalfe County's most gifted story tellers. (See: The Scary Animals at Keltner: A childhood school days memory). For some gathered, reading a poem out loud reminded them of classmate Donald Pedigo (1948-1995), who loved to read poems aloud in small gatherings and was particularly fond of reading Robert Frost's Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening in front of a wood burning fireplace when snow in Kentucky would be deep outside. He would have loved to have been in Leftwich Hall to have heard his classmates poetry, and even more, to have heard his good and true friend Joe Ed McDonald stand and share the trouble they got into as devilish classmates. - EW
