Uganda student at LWC reminds us of a blessing: water

2016-08-18 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Jacob Saylor, creator of Humans of Lindsey Wilson College.
Lindsey Wilson College student, Derrick Joshua Kisita, reminds us of a blessing by sharing this spotlight about local water. He wrote on the "Humans of Lindsey Wilson" Facebook page: "This part of the country is very blessed with a lot of water. When my aunt and I came we were amazed; we had never seen a water faucet in our life. You know we saw the water faucet and then that very day we saw the vending machine, and we thought the vending machine and the faucet worked the same way; you had to pay money for it because that's what you did in Uganda. And it took us a while to actually realize the faucet was free. It's clean, fresh water that you can take at any time in the day and you take as much as you want. That's a blessing, really." (The first "Humans of" work started in New York when Brandon Stanton, a photographer there, created a "photographic census" of his city. The idea took flight and has since been done in many places and has been turned into a best selling book. Humans of Lindsey Wilson in Columbia KY was created by Jake Saylor.) - Linda Waggener
