Walking Classroom site work underway at Adair Co. Schools

2016-05-06 - Off Indian Drive, Adair County School District, Columbia, KY - Photo by David Jones, ACDS Maintenance Director.
When there are lulls in the rain, prep work is underway in a joint Adair County School District, Jelaine Harlow of the Adair County Health Department and W.A.T.C.H. to open an innovative Walking/Talking Classroom in a grove of trees between the ACMS Football field and Adair County High School. It is a part of a overall plan toward better health, higher mental acuity, with subsequent economic development benefits that is underway in what may be master plan to use available resources to accomplish the primary goal of better health through Walking and Talking. Conducting outdoor classes, conferences, board meetings, events where participants get a minimum of 10,000 steps in each day, regardless of whether they go to a walking track, walk while shopping, walk inside their homes, at work, or by simply walking anytime they are on a cell-phone, so their answer to "What are you up to?" is a figure the other party will easily understand. "10,002." is a super answer. - CM
