Twelve teams of horses & mules at HGR Plow Days 2016

2016-04-24 - Homeplace on Green River, 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo By George Kolbenschlag, HGR photo.
Twelve teams of horses and mules practiced their skills at Saturday's Homeplace on Green River plow day and spring festival. The large crowd at the festival also had an opportunity to see many of the skills from the early pioneer days at the farm which was first settled in 1803. There was butter making, horse shoeing, pioneer reenactment, ox cart rides, leather working and many friendly animals of all sizes. Homeplace is a 200 acre historic farm being restored to help preserve the areas rich agricultural heritage. In March, the Kentucky Senate passed a resolution naming Homeplace "Kentucky’s Outdoor Classroom."
