Sammy Baker: C/AC Chamber 2016 Agriculturist of the Year

Sammy Baker, the 2016 Columbia-Adair County Agriculturist of the Year, left was introduced by Kirby Hancock, second from left. With them are Chamber of Commerce Ellen Zornes and Chamber Executive Director Sue Stivers. In his introduction, Kirby Hancock said Sammy Baker has made more of an impact on agriculture in Adair County than anyone he knows. "Sammy has worked with countless young people getting started in agriculture business. From 1968 to 1996 he was the AG teacher in the Adair County public school system and had one, maybe two teams that won the Hord's Dairyman contest among many other student team wins. He is Magistrate in his District and he and his wife Nadine have two sons, both successful dairy farmers, and five grandchildren."
