A brief history of the Jeffries Building in very limited edition

2016-03-13 - Ohio - Photo Ed Waggener. A booklet packed with nuggets of information has just been published. Linda and I were honored and were grateful to receive a copy February 24, 2016, and the author, Jim Garner said that only a handful had been printed. Copies were sent to Lindsey Wilson College, the new owner of the building which is now in early stages of restoration. One gem to be cleaned is the coincidence that the Jeffries Building opened in 1903 - the same year, the author notes, parenthetically "Another ambitious undertaking slated for construction . . . was 'The Methodist Training School, a brick, to cost $10,000.'" That's just one of the gems in the fact packed eight pages in a volume we'll treasure. If the book ever goes on sale, it will likely be through Watson Publications, Mike and Renae Watson's company, which handles numerous other books by this writer. In the introduction there is a note that an earlier version was printed July 23, 2013 as A brief history of the Jeffries Building - a much briefer version, but it gives a glimpse of what's in the new version. - EW.
