Scenic Metcalfe Co., KY: Winter Greenery, Good Luck-Beaumont Road

2016-02-07 - Good Luck-Beaumont Road, Metcalfe County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, CM photo.
Moss lovers can find great green patches of it so easily in the winter time. It's what's making a Know-Your-County-Better-Tour so great, especially for spotting areas of mosses and ferns, as here on a south bank of a creek, seen from a bridge on Good Luck-Beaumont Road, a major "short cut" - it won't take a much longer time than the long way, S. on KY 163, east on KY 90/John Muir Trail, to get from Edmonton to Burkesville or the other way around. Hard choice, though, that stretch of the Big Road has spectacular scenery; the Short Cut, more serene, gentler but equally beautiful terrain. Makes one wonder: where is the largest area of moss cover within the counties of Metcalfe, Russell, Taylor, Adair, Casey, Cumberland and Green??? - EW
