Remember when UK presented redesign of Downtown Columbia?

Remember the excitement and enthusiasm when a landscape group from the University of Kentucky came to Columbia and devoted weeks of intense study to the possibilities for the community and donated a plan to enhance the charm and livability of the town? That was 15 years ago, in the year 2000. There is but a bit of evidence that any of the great ideas were ever incorporated. The drawings were archived by Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick in an earlier term, and who facilitated posting this photograph just a short while ago. For orientation, the upper left of the drawing for the Square is the Adair County Courthouse Annex. Comments and memories welcome. - Ed Waggener Paired photo.
