On Thursday, April 30, 2015, Joey White, Adair County Regional Jailer, greeted Matt Bevin, candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor, at the Adair County Republican Party Meet and Greeting/Gubernatorial Forum at Lindsey Wilson College, Thursday, 30 Apr 2015. At the time, Bevin was in slightly hostile territory at a time when most of the GOP establishment - then mostly Jamie Comer supporters - was making sure they weren't photographed with him. It was a tribute to his perseverance that the governor-elect soldiered on, made it through a trying night, continued his adept brand of one-on-one retail politics, won the Republican primary in a 87 vote landslide then won the general election is a somewhat bigger landslide.
