Geniece Marcum asked Lisa Ann England Hammer to forward this photo from the Metcalfe County Adult Day Care Center "on to the house" (to daughter Jane Todd) so we could write about the persimmon seed winter prediction and share with readers. According to the Farmers Almanac, the shape inside the kernel will tell the type of winter coming. A spoon shaped (or shovel shaped) kernel, which this seed in question happened to be, means lots of heavy, wet snow will be coming our way. - JTM
