Vintage radio display at Katie Murrell Library 14 & 21 Oct 2015

2015-10-14 - Photo by Phil Hanna.
Display of vintage radios at LWC 14 & 21 Oct 2015: If you're out of warranty, you may be old enough to remember when your father told you to turn on the radio to listen to H.V. Kaltenborn or Lowell Thomas with the news on a radio which might look just like one of these in this photo which shows just part of the collection. The Katie Murrell Library is hosting a display of vintage radios (1925-1950) from the collection of Dr. Jean Oostens, resident of Columbia and professor of physics. Today, Wednesday, October 14 at 2:30pmCT, and again next Wednesday, October 21, 2015 Dr. Oostens will be in the Thomas D. Clark reading room, Katie Murrell Library, 235 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY, to talk about radios as technology and means of communication. - Phil Hanna
