Baxter, squirrel hunting Irish Water Spaniel

2015-09-27 - Columbia, KY - Photo by A.W. Reed.
Baxter is an Irish Water Spaniel, a curly haired retriever from Canada. He is my best friend, and he could care less about the trials and tribulations of being a school superintendent, so long as he can take a daily dip in a creek, or even tree a squirrel (he has forgotten he is a duck retriever). I've read about Jr. Stott's dog and think that Baxter is more like a state university graduate, while his Queensland Heeler, Lu, is certainly an Ivy leaguer by comparison. One thing is for sure, Jr. and I both know who our most loyal friends are! More than once I have been asked if I think dogs go to heaven. All I know is this -If I get there, I will be sorely disappointed if my trusted companions over the years aren't some of the first to run and greet me. - Alan W. Reed Alan Reed
