Scenic Adair Co., KY: The tree in Union Cemetery 2015-09-13 - Union Cemetery, 174 Milltown Church Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. A lone tree dominated the skyline on September 12, 2015, amid markers ancient and new in this section of Union Cemetery seen from Milltown Church Road. Union Cemetery is one of Adair County's most historic, containing not only the remains of many who lost their lives in the Gradyville Flood of 1907, but also Gilmer Cemetery, which was relocated to Union Cemetery in 2006, when Holladay Place was under construction. Views from the cemetery are both spectacular and serene, owing in large part to being surround by some of the most lovingly tended - and valuable - property in Adair County.
