Big Rig Trucker in Refugio, TX

2015-06-11 - Refugio, Refugio County, Texas - Photo by Big Al Owens, the Big Rig Trucker. Big Al has been on the road in subtropical Refugio County, Texas, and sends this postcard from the county seat, Refugio. The photo above celebrates one of Big Al's heroes, pitcher Nolan Ryan, whose 100 mph fastballs were quite a bit faster than Adair Countian Big Al was going in his semi, pulling out of Campbellsville, KY. Refugio County, according to Wikipedia, is over twice the size of Adair land area, and has less than half the population, 7,306, closer to the population of Cumberland County, KY, and, just as Cumberland County includes a Dale Hollow shoreline, Refugio County is on the Gulf Coast.
