Wildlife of Kentucky: Urban Coyote

2015-05-19 - 1200 block, Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Junior Stotts, iPhone photo.
Junior Stotts caught this Coyote trespassing on his SE corner lot - The Chapman Place - Primary Election Eve, Mon 18 May 2015. Probably not the first time one's been this close to town, but it's the first one ever submitted to CM. That's Blue Raider Stadium directly across the Louie B. Nunn, Cumberland Parkway, top of frame. Diagonally across the interchange from the field is Kentucky State Police Post 15, so this guy is rather brazen. Who do you call when a coyote is spotted? Animal Control? KY Fish and Wildlife? The latter was really busy yesterday pinpointing the source of the fish kill in Russell Creek. Nearby Green River Animal Shelter has taken in a wolf-dog, but might not want a coyote.
