Favorite Old Photo: 'Merchant Street' Branch Bank

2015-05-14 - 124 N Reed Street, Columbia, KY - Photo from the Larry Smith collection.

I believe this photo was taken in the 1970's. I believe that it was the first branch bank ever in Columbia. The sign says, "Future Home MERCHANT STREET BRANCH Bank of Columbia." The branch is still quite busy. If the information I get is right, it was built before Chris Quinn was President of the bank - maybe even before the Book on Local was even written. I'm sure it was before I had a bank account. - LARRY SMITH, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications.
