Smokey Blue, aka Hat Trick, not as worthless as appears

2015-05-08 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Has it also puzzled you how people are willing to poke fun at one's hair, clothes coordination, even one's walk-away wheels, your tired old car? It's cruel, but endurable. It's part of life up with which we put - but we draw the line at criticism of our cat. Sometimes, the glimpse one gets of a cat is not the whole picture, as in the case of Smokey Blue, above, looking a bit unnecessary. What can't be fully appreciated is the performance Smokey put on while we were at table, watching his seven o'clock crazy antics. He had just defeated more than a dozen falling leaves. He had laid in wait for a chance to pounce a much larger butterscotch cat, and he stalked some groundhogs, but thought the better of a showdown with them. He is the most athletic creature in town. He can play soccer by himself for dozens of minutes at a time. And, if there were a soccer cat stadium here - perhaps the most needed new infrastructure facing the community at this time - he'd be the star. Hat Trick Smokey, they'd call him. Anybody else have a similar issue? Something needs to be done about it, now. - EW
