Saturday April 11, 2015, was a zippety-do-dah day. Glorious, perfect weather with glo with glorious, stunningly beautiful stretches of dandelions. It was not the day of the most butterflies, but many were seen. Wendy Burt, a go-to identifier of all things nature was asked about the butterfly She wrote, "I'm not certain about the butterfly because of the angle of its wings . . . it looks as though it might be a Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) sipping nectar from a dandelion with, yes, henbit in the background."
