Scenic Casey Co., KY: Snow fog over Green River

2015-03-01 - US 127, 5.64 miles south of Liberty, Casey Co., KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
It a landmark familiar to diners at Bread of Life, 5369 US 127, Liberty, KY, but Sunday it was winter surreal, with snowy fog obscuring the hills beyond Green River. A couple of honkers - Canada Geese - year round residents - and the tree, the neat rows of corn stubble and farm pond can be seen more clearly in the foreground. Oh, and how far is it in time from Liberty: By car a little over five minutes. By float trip down Green River, about five hours, Alan W Reed, who reached this point by boat, remembers. - CM
